Girl Dad Movement

Following Kobe Bryant’s death, a movement was born called #GirlDad. It was inspired by a story ESPN reporter Elle Duncan told shortly after Kobe’s passing. In the story, she mentions she had interviewed Kobe while pregnant and told him she was having a girl. Kobe proudly told her that he felt girls were the best and would have five more daughters if he could because he as a girl dad.

Soon after Elle told that story dads started posting on social media pictures of them with their daughters with the simple hashtag of girl dad.

In honor of fathers day, we here at She Writes sports would like to share sixteen athletes (including Kobe) who are proud girl dads.
